About Us

Barr Photography has grown from humble beginnings in 1999 to an exceptionally successful business in a very short time. Principal photographer Matthew Barr, has developed a highly awarded technique and style that both captures and creates images that will be cherished for a lifetime.

After selling his successful studio in Australia in 2004, Matthew moved with his family to Northern Utah. Matt continues to push the limits in professional photography. Matt understands the need to remain current with new and progressive styles, techniques and products. This he does by attending many seminars, tradeshows and maintaining memberships with professional photographic organizations such as:

  • IPPA (Intermountain Professional Photographers Association)
  • PPA (Professional Photographers of America)
  • AIPP (Australian Institute Of Professional Photography)


Matthew continues to train other professional photographers and amateurs in digital systems and photographic techniques.

When asked about his style, Matt's answer is almost always the same "... I have a naturalistic romantic approach". This style is a reflection of Matt's relaxed easygoing manner and his own experiences with his wife KeriLyn and their two children.

Family Shoots

Family shoot time is a time to relax. Don't sweat it, have fun and let every member of the family be what they want to be. Capture your true selves. That is what we do.

Come up with some ideas yourself or we have many suggestions on location, clothing and style. We can work together to give you a truly timeless traditional heirloom, or something fun and different. Our family sessions are just $100. Lets have some fun!

High School Senior Portraits

Seniors, this is your time to shine! Enjoy a fun filled shoot in your favorite clothes, at your favorite locations, with friends or by yourself. This photo shoot is all about you. Have fun, relax and allow us to capture the real you!

Sessions generally run for not less than about 1 hour. Depending on the number of outfit changes you have, locations selected and what you hope to achieve, we could spend 1/2 the day shooting your style.

Our standard session fee is just $85. Our packages are completely flexible and tailored to what you want. What your images online? No worries!
